Ceramics Lab: All students are expected to clean the studio, tables, tools, sinks, potters wheel, etc. after finished working. Everything has its place. Return all tools to their proper place. No one wants to clean up your mess so they can work. Dust and chemicals from clay, slips and glazes are hazardous to your health. Clay contains silica, which damages your lungs when inhaled. KEEP THE LAB CLEAN!
TOOLS- At the end of each period clean large pieces of clay from tools and make sure that all of the spaces in the holder are filled with their appropriate tools.
TABLES- At the end of each period remove big pieces of clay and scrape off anything extra that is stuck. Then grab a sponge and wipe tables off. Make sure that you ring the sponge out before use on tables.
SINKS- Clean out sink and scoop out clay into trash can. Wipe it down with sponge. Check the levels of glazes in small containers and refill if Necessary.
FLOOR- Clean around clay buckets, including the buckets themselves. If that is done, check the floor around work tables.
